Long Time!
***Gee whiz, it has been a while since I've blogged. A lot has happened since the last time I updated my blog. Hopefully I will keep up a little better now. I lost my biggest transcription client a couple of weeks ago, what a blow. It wasn't anything I did, it was a mandate from a partner hospital when Reid switched to the Epic system. I still have three clients, but it's only enough to keep one of my typists and I busy.
On another note, Mark & I are going to open an arts and crafts store in Richmond. We will rent booths to different crafters and sell new, locally handmade goods. The name of the store will be Halo, for Handmade and Local. Clever, huh? We have been keeping very busy working on the building, it is very old and needed a lot of cleaning and sprucing up. It's coming along very nicely, though. We're hoping for a May 1 opening date.
***I was so disappointed in Donald Trump yesterday when he signed that bloated spending bill. I think the Democrats really played him this time - they got the over the top spending that they love so much, plus they got him to alienate a huge chunk of his base. Win-win for the Dems. Makes me sick.
***Freezing the "hunger nerve" could help with weight loss. Well, that's a new one.
***Culture of corruption. De Blasio is a crook, as it seems are most elected Democrats. Okay, that might be a bit of a stretch, but I can't think of one elected Democrat worthy of respect. None of them bothered to denounce all the violence and destruction by groups like BLM in the weeks following Trump's inauguration. Whether that was just political cowardice or outright agreement with their sentiments, both are equally repugnant.
What is sickening is the realization that De Blasio will probably not be held accountable.
***And now, to lighten things up a bit...

Once, there was an older man, who was broke, living in a tiny house and owned a beat up car. He was living off of $99 social security checks. At 65 years of age, he decide things had to change. So he thought about what he had to offer. His friends raved about his chicken recipe. He decided that this was his best shot at making a change.
He left Kentucky and traveled to different states to try to sell his recipe. He told restaurant owners that he had a mouthwatering chicken recipe. He offered the recipe to them for free, just asking for a small percentage on the items sold. Sounds like a good deal, right?
Unfortunately, not to most of the restaurants. He heard NO over 1000 times. Even after all of those rejections, he didn’t give up. He believed his chicken recipe was something special. He got rejected 1009 times before he heard his first yes.
With that one success Colonel Hartland Sanders changed the way Americans eat chicken. Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as KFC, was born.
Remember, never give up and always believe in yourself in spite of rejection.

A Long Island restaurateur testified under oath on Thursday that he steered tens of thousands of dollars to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s political campaigns in return for favorable treatment by the city.
It was the first time that the restaurateur, Harendra Singh, has publicly detailed his efforts to use campaign contributions — as much as $80,000 raised from others, and much more personally by using “straw donors” to skirt contribution limits — to gain better terms during lease negotiations for one of his restaurants.Mr. Singh also suggested for the first time that Mr. de Blasio not only knew of the illegal arrangement, but that the mayor encouraged it and actively helped the restaurateur.
What is sickening is the realization that De Blasio will probably not be held accountable.

Joel 2:12-13
12 “Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” 13 Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
