Another Resolution?

***Okay, this year I'm really, really, really going to do better at keeping up my blog. December was an especially busy month for Meditran. It has finally slowed down a bit. I am losing a big, I mean BIG, client in March and I'm sending out resumes left and right trying to replace some of that work. I hate it that I won't be able to keep my 14 girls busy, but I'm sure I won't be able to replace that much work by March. It took me years to build Meditran to this level. Mark & I are also looking into a Chick-fil-A franchise. We would love for that to work out, but they have a lot of applicants and it's far from a done deal, so we have to keep our options open. I interviewed at an Indianapolis hospital for a coding position on Friday, I'm anxious to see how I did on the test. I haven't been able to study very much in my coding books for the last couple of months. I feel pretty good about it.

***It's c-c-c-cold here in Richmond, Indiana! -1 last time I looked. I would rather have a bunch of snow than the frigid cold.

If we need motivation to live like a new creation, God has provided two keys in His Word. It’s important to look backward to the New Covenant, the source of our salvation. We can meditate on Hebrews and thank God again that the sacrifice of Jesus made “a new and living way” for us to enter His presence (Hebrews 10:19-22). And we also keep looking forward to our future by reading Revelation. We can find comfort in thinking about the time when God will right all wrongs, heal all hurts, and give us a new name and a new home.

***Sleaze alert! One of Hillary Clinton's biggest political backers paid $500,000 to fund women willing to accuse Donald Trump of sexual misconduct before the 2016 election.

Democrats cannot win with ideas. If they tell the truth about what they believe, they'll rarely get elected. Therefore, they resort to underhanded, dishonest tactics such as the above. There should be a way for him to sue this woman for defamation.

Former Clinton nemesis turned Clinton operative David Brock also donated $200,000 to the effort through a nonprofit group he founded, the paper reported in an article entitled, “Partisans, Wielding Money, Begin Seeking to Exploit Harassment Claims.”

Even with their bribery attempts they couldn't get anyone to come forward with any credible claims - not that they cared about whether the claims were true or not. Democrats have become the party of deceit and debauchery.

A History of 'Auld Lang Syne'

The song was not originally intended to be used on New Year's Eve - it wasn't until Guy Lombardo included the song in his popular NYE radio show in New York City that it became associated with the holiday.

Since that point, it quickly became the song played at the stroke of midnight every December 31st. Fans of the Beach Boys will know their great 1964 recording on the The Beach Boys' Christmas Album.

The melody currently used to sing "Auld Lang Syne" isn't actually the same tune Robert Burns wrote the lyrics for. According to Burns, "Auld Lang Syne" was "...an old song, of the olden times, and which has never been in print, nor even in manuscript until I took it down from an old man."  Indeed, the song bears some resemblance to the earlier "Old Long Syne" by James Watson, believed to have been derived from that same "old song."
