Get With It!

***We had our church's Secret Sister Reveal Party here yesterday, I had a houseful and it was such fun! I'm getting over a cold too, so when it was over and everything was cleaned up I was pooped! Didn't get any work done at all yesterday, so I'm going to be holed up in my office for the rest of the day today. It was worth it! Love all those ladies. Fellowship with other believers is so important to the Christian walk, I think.

***Successful people always chase the impossible. - Great read!

Successful people -- and entrepreneurs especially -- are driven by their goals. It’s a fine line, though, between goals that inspire and goals that trap. The best stories about entrepreneurs are full of fresh starts and unexpected detours. If you find yourself disliking what you’re doing, or feeling frustrated even when things are going well, think about making a new plan. Changing your path isn’t bad or wrong or failing -- it’s simply a new choice, and often the right one.

***Some great thoughts about God's grace:

“Grace is free sovereign favor to the ill-deserving.”(B.B. Warfield)
“Grace is love that cares and stoops and rescues.”(John Stott)
“[Grace] is God reaching downward to people who are in rebellion against Him.”(Jerry Bridges)
“Grace is unconditional love toward a person who does not deserve it.” (Paul Zahl)

A shorthand for what grace is - “mercy, not merit.” Grace is the opposite of karma, which is all about getting what you deserve. Grace is getting what you don’t deserve, and not getting what you do deserve. Christianity teaches that what we deserve is death with no hope of resurrection.

I'm so thankful that even though I fall short of the mark on a regular basis, God's grace keeps me in the palm of His hand.

***A mother took her three-year-old daughter to church for the first time. The church lights were lowered, and then the choir came down the aisle, carrying lighted candles. All was quiet until the little one started to sing in a loud voice, "Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you...."
