Encouragement

***Saw this on the Casting Crowns Facebook page:

Words of encouragement are life giving!! Feeling celebrated for your accomplishments equals feeling well-loved. I know our successes and accomplishments don’t define us, but when you have people around you that are cheering you on, it makes it easier to press on and do all the hard things. There’s nothing prideful about celebrating a great accomplishment in your life. I believe God allows us moments of successes to remind us that we are actually doing something (and doing it well) and not just spinning our earthly wheels- after all, your hard work and accomplishments can change your life for the better, change the world, and point people to the transforming power of Jesus- and THAT. IS. WORTH. CELEBRATING! Successes come in big AND small things- and ALL of them are worthy of celebrating! It is beyond energizing to have a little confetti thrown your way and a “attaboy” or “you go girl” said to you— and it doesn’t void your humility AT ALL to accept it. We ALL need words of affirmation from the people around us. How can we celebrate YOU today? Is there something you’ve accomplished lately, big or small? Something you’ve worked really hard for and achieved? Is there something you’re working hard towards? Let us know something you have recently accomplished and let us cheer you on! Comment below and let us be a voice of encouragement to you! #celebratepeople #encouragement #confettithrower
That is so true! Everyone needs some affirmation now and then.

***What an awful thing in Texas yesterday. Please pray for the community and the families who lost loved ones. I can't imagine.

***Born in 1896. Wow.

Born in 1896 – a year after George VI, and four years before the current Guinness-listed oldest person, Nabi Tajima – Jaramillo lost his birth certificate in the same house fire that made him destitute 20 years ago.
But the birth date on his Chilean identity card is 1896, and no one in Chile up to the president and justice minister (who personally delivered his renewed ID card in 2016) doubts his longevity.

***I was one of those who doubted Trump's conservatism. I have to admit, though, that so far he has done an admirable job in the face of malignant hatred and bias.

In assessing Trump’s accomplishments, let’s not get too distracted by his unconventional conduct. This hitherto ideologically unmoored man has set in motion an administration arguably more conservative than Ronald Reagan’s. While the Congress controlled by his adopted party remains gridlocked, Trump is rolling back regulations and a number of the Obama administration’s most controversial achievements, including the internal structure of Obamacare and the Clean Power Plan. His foreign policy resets look increasingly sure-footed. His judicial nominees are uniformly conservative. It is inconceivable that any of the other leading Republican candidates from the 2016 cycle would have governed as boldly as Trump has.

 Keep it up, Mr. President.

***A boy asks his father, "Dad, are bugs good to eat?" "That's disgusting. Don't talk about things like that over dinner," the dad replies. After dinner the father asks, "Now, son, what did you want to ask me?" "Oh, nothing," the boy says. "There was a bug in your soup, but now it’s gone."

***Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid . . .  for
the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not
       fail thee, nor forsake thee.
